The March Open Concert included twelve impressive performances from pupils in Years 7 to 13, with pupils’ own choices of music ranging from concertos and sonatas by Bach and Beethoven to the songs of Radiohead, Chuck Berry and the Kaiser Chiefs. Marcus (7DO), Kangmin (10GA) and Joseph (8RXH) opened the concert with performances on the violin, voice and piano respectively, before Saahil (11MRL) and Tom (7TW) presented works by Verdi and Muller for voice and clarinet. Suhaas (11MMB) Haran (8HB) and Perry (13LY) performed music including The Last Rose of Summer and Neruda’s Trumpet Concerto, before Tom (11SP) performed Changing Landscapes by Arandjelovic. Arjan’s (13SJC) impressively sung, acted and adapted farewell songs ‘Send In The Clowns’ and ‘I’m Still Here’ were fitting reflections on reaching Year 13. These were followed by compelling performances by senior and junior rock bands of Creep, Ruby and Johnny B Goode.
