The 2XI headed down to Wallington by coach to be greeted by a pitch with a slight incline, forcing our defenders to track back uphill in the first half. After a shaky start meaning that keeper Saketh had to make some saves, Tiffin held strong defensively and started to counter-attack with long balls over the top. Some fancy footwork from Jinu led to Atharv getting in on goal and winning corners after some brilliant last-ditch tackles from Wilson’s defenders. Unfortunately, our momentum was brought to a crashing halt after a well-placed cross from the right found a Wilson’s head to nod it into the Tiffin net.

The second half was marked by the onset of the sun finally coming out, meaning that the team was sapped of strength on the match went on. Some free kicks won high up the pitch due to some strong Wilson’s tackles were almost converted, with their defence and keeper doing just enough to keep Atharv and Sam out. The Wilson’s corner routine was just as dodgy as their tackles, with several Wilson’s players trying to rugby tackle Saketh to take him out of the game. Despite, this we were able to counter multiple times from corners, unfortunately with no results. This brave all-in attacking play would be for nought as an absolute peach of a goal came in from the right for Wilson’s, making it 2-0. Despite some great runs from our midfield finding their way up the pitch, full time would eventually blow to mark the end of the season. Jinu, Gabriel, Saketh, and Max Dale all put in great shifts, with Max Dale being coach’s MOTM and Saketh winning the team’s vote for MOTM. – Saketh M
