After an intense week of rehearsals, the Tiffin Glee Club went on Sunday the 12th of November to a workshop run by the Jack Petchey Glee Club Challenge for the purpose of preparing us for a regional finals in January. For those who aren’t familiar, the Tiffin Glee Club is a club set up to compete in this competition, based around the performing arts; the club is open to anyone who wants to join and encourages new members. The workshop was run by professionals from various careers in the performing arts sector with the purpose of helping us improve vocally, physically and our overall performance. Our vocal session was well run and it helped us develop good ideas of how we wanted to sing our two pieces, which are ’30/90′ written by Jonathan Larson from the biographical musical film directed by Lin- Manuel Miranda ‘Tick Tick Boom’ and ‘Honeymoon Avenue’ by Ariana Grande.

The ensemble workshop helps us build as a team and create an idea of what we want to focus on when performing and what we want the audience to remember after watching our performance. The movement, dance rehearsal was a nice boost to end the day on with Mrs Brittain getting praise from a West End choreographer for her choreography (and she said we were decent as well!). Overall, it was a really fun day that really helped us in the areas we were struggling with.
