The borough Cross Country Championships were absolutely amazing, despite the wet and windy conditions on a damp November 16th morning. All our runners showed incredible determination and performed very well.
The Senior Boys were first to race and looked to preserve the title that had run through Tiffin for years. In a crowded field, the Tiffin boys asserted themselves at the front of the pack with 5 runners in the top 10. Team Captain Connor surged to the front of the field and claimed gold, as Atharv fought valiantly for a bronze medal, making it two Tiffinians on the borough podium. Oscar and Esteban rounded out the team scoring strong 5th and 7th place finishes respectively, solidifying Tiffin’s hold on the team trophy for yet another year. A special mention goes out to Ben, who finished 8th on his debut run for school, showing extreme promise in such an important first race. The Senior Girls’ team was simply fantastic; Ava took an incredible 2nd place, while Amy, Joely, and Lucy delivered strong performances, leading the school to a well-deserved first place.
Seniors with both the Ladies and Men’s Borough Trophies. This is the fourth trophy the ladies have won since the Sixth Form was expanded – three Borough Championships and most improved team at the National Relays.
In the intermediate category, the team excelled. Cathal, Ethan, Haruki, Lucas and Josh all finished in the top 15 among a field of highly talented runners gaining borough selection in the process . The team placed in the top 3 in the borough.
The junior runners faced tough competition from county standard runners but they didn’t back down though many of our team were on the way back from illness and injury . Thomas showcased his skills and claimed a fantastic 5th place. He was backed up well by Hughie, Daniel and Nyill to place 5th as a team. Max, who confidently secured 1st place for Year 7, along with the rest of the scorers, Freddie and Adrian, were led to a well deserved team victory.

Despite the rain, this was a truly fantastic result for our team. We couldn’t be prouder of our runners!
