Congratulations to Thomas who set a Surrey Indoor record in the England Athletics 800m Indoor U15 Championships held in Sheffield on 11th February. In recording a time of 2.03.31, he broke one of the longest surviving track records in the school books. This was a 2.03.4 clocking in 1981 by Andy Moore son of the great friend of the school Ted Moore. Ted graced us with his time energy and effort in timekeeping and athletics enthusiasm for over 20 years. Some would say it was to keep watch on his sons record, but Ted would be thrilled to know of the new mark. Thomas again set off on a fearsome first lap only to be run into a great England silver medal position by just one other athlete on the last lap.
